Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 2013 is over and we are that much closer to seeing our sweet Sister Toomer!!!! Here is the GREATEST Christmas email we got from her!! So exciting!!! =)
Best Christmas Ever!!! I got to see my family on Skype and cry and laugh and everything with them it was wonderful!!! Also the members spoiled us with delicious food and good company. And a miracle happened!!! So Roberta, the investigator I asked you to pray for cuz she is sooo stubborn calls us up after Christmas at 6:20am in the morning and says she has unexpected company coming and she needs help with a project. So Sister Brudnicki and I go over in our service clothes ready to help her clean her house...and much to our surprise she's like "alright I'm ready to be baptized and I want to do it today!"!
We were shocked. I personally thought I was still sleeping but then my head was going 90 miles and hour thinking of her interview she needed and to call the bishop. It wasn't a dream!!!! We planned a baptism in 10hours!!! Craziest day but the best because I knew she was making a step closer to her Heavenly Father and I was so blessed to be a part of it!!!! It was definitely a miracle! Gotta Love the mission life!
And I am so glad that you got to see my amazing companion she is wonderful! You will have to take her to dinner or something cuz she's pretty legit! Keep sharing what you know and doing HT and VT because I'm seeing that the people that fall away said they didn't feel loved because their HT and VT never visited them! So sad! But you can do it!!!! I love you all and am so proud to be a part of the Toomer familia!!!Have a wonderful New Year!!!Love,Sister Toomer

Happy December from Sister Toomer!!
Here is a letter she wrote recently...
I love you!!! Thanks for all your support and love really I have the best family a sister missionary could ever ask for!!! That is soo cool you got a hold of Sister Clegg's sister she is super excited to meet you!!!I think I will be in Pendleton for Christmas but transfers are next week so I will know for sure then. We are actually doing wonderfullly here and have more and more people to teach! We took two younger boys to church yesterday and they said they want to go again!!! Then we have this kinda crazy lady we are teaching that says she will get baptized if she has goggles, and nose plugs and ear plugs so we are getting really close with her cuz she is super afraid of water. But really it's salvation! I was reading how when Christ came to the America's and the first thing that he did kinda was tell the people he loved them and let them witness of him and then gave people the authority to baptize people so really it is that important!!! I love learning and growing in the gospel!!! And Pendleton really is a wonderful area the members are so supportive and I couldn't ask for more! Also cool story, Kurt met a kid that is from Pendleton and I know his family. They were actually the first house I taught I lesson at here! Small world!!! Life is great! Sometimes I wish I could just drag people to the font but I need to learn patience and it's good :) There is this lady named Roberta and her family are new converts and she goes to church all the time but is being stubborn on being baptized so if you could keep her in your prayers that would be great! You're the best!! Oh and I went on exchanges with Spanish speaking sisters and the church really is true even when you can't understand the language, the spirit was there. It was really cool and I learned a lot. I pretty much smiled cuz I couldn't teach in Spanish although I did bear my testimony in Spanish- soy Jesus Christo Vive! I know Jesus Christ Lives!!! :) What more do they need;) jk Thanks again for everything and are all of you going to be at one place for Christmas cuz I have a place I can Skype at! Should be good!!! Love you all!!
Love, Sister Toominater
Sister Toomer's Thanksgiving!!
We missed our girl this Thanksgiving, but it sounds like she had a great time!
Another Letter-
11/25/13I'm so thankful for you!!!! I can't tell you enough of how blessed I am to have such a wonderful family and for all your support and love you send my way! Thank you for fasting!!! You're amazing the work really is hastening-we have been getting more referrals than ever before and they are more and more people ready to hear the gospel, I love it! We have a one lady that just needs to be dunked cuz she is pretty much a dry mormon and is being stubborn!!! So if you could pray for Roberta Tollis to be baptized!!! Her whole family are converts to the church she is just being silly. Anyway Sister Clegg will not be with me this Christmas season. She is going back to Orem,
Utah the 19th so if you want to go to her farewell that would be sweet!! She is such a great missionary and I got super duper blessed to be her companion!!!! Thanksgiving will be a blast we are having a party with like tons of families that all want to take care of us so no worries! And I just wanted to thank you for being the best family a girl could ever have!!! I love you!Love,Sister Toomer
Another Letter-
11/28/13 Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!
Man this week was awesomely exciting!!! So for thanksgiving since everyone is asking... I had a big breakfast with members and then a two thanksgiving dinners at different members home! It was delicious! We did walk to our different areas so that helped make room for more and more food. We also visited tons of people on that day so we got desserts galore! The church is so amazing! Missionaries are famous kinda, well according to members here. My companion leaves in like 2 weeks sad day! She is so great and I have learned tons from her!!! She talks about home a lot which is alright, but no worries I'm still keeping her working ;) She really is a great missionary and I really did get blessed!! Cool experience too. She taught a family a year ago and they were sealed in the Washington temple this Saturday and Sister Clegg got permission to go and since I'm her comp I got to go as well!!! It was the sooo cool! Makes me super excited for the day when I can go with my future man someday! Also I was thinking of our people we are teaching and how they could go in the temple in a year like this family did! It was such a cool experience!!!We are teaching this lady that is on date for baptism and she doesn't come to church- kinda frustrating...but anyway we had a really cool lesson we were teaching her the plan of salvation and we brought a member with us and he brought his ipad to show her pictures and stuff. And we were going on with the lesson and the spirit was there and the member kept fiddling with his Ipad. We ignored him and finished the lesson. After the prayer the member asked our investigator if she had a relative named Kathrina and she was kinda weirded out and said ya that is my mom's grandma. He showed her his ipad and Kathrina was written on the notes page and he said he had a prompting to write down her name. He said that a women was telling him how to spell it and that Chris the investigator needed to get baptized so that she could do the work for her. It gave me chills but you could totally feel her presence and the spirit was sooo strong! I probably didn't give this story justice but it was amazing and I know without a doubt that there are those on the other side of the veil watching over us and helping us find our brothers and sisters! The gospel is true and it really does bring happiness and peace in my life! Thank you all for being wonderful examples and raising me in this wonderful gospel!!!!I love you all and wish you the best in all your endeavors!Love,Sister Toomer

Here is the latest from our sweet girl Sister Toomer!!!!
Here is the latest from our sweet girl Sister Toomer!!!!
We love our Sister Toomer so much and will miss her this holiday season! We just know how blessed the people there are to have her with them! Make sure to write Sister Toomer often the next few months so she knows we are thinking of her often!Hey guys-It's so true the work is hastening and without the members help it is hard! I'm so proud of you guys cuz I know you will help your missionaries;) You guys are great! Over here the members are wonderful! There's a lady that lets us do our laundry at her house :) They are all super great and I bet the missionaries there say the same thing about you! I love you all! And I appreciate your love and support it really helps a ton! Halloween was fun we got to go to the church for a little bit to see the trunk or treat they do there, and then we had to be in our apartments all night but we made it fun we danced to Christmas music and sugared up! :) Gotta love Halloween! The work is going pretty well we are meeting with Lexi King tonight. She is the one scheduled to be baptized Nov 23rd but feels a little pressured-but I have faith everything will work out. She is such a cool girl she already is sticking up for the church cuz her friends said that we aren't Christians and she clarified it! I'm so proud! I love getting to know the people and seeing how the gospel changes lives for the better and it really does! Thank you so much for raising me in this wonderful gospel!!! Hope all is going well and love you lots! I love you so much!! Stay Awesome!
Love,Sis Toomster!

Here is another fabulous email from our spectacular missionary! We love her to pieces!!
Love you all!! Thank you for all the support and love you send my way! Wow tell Keith and Lila thanks a ton! We really do have such a wonderful family and sometimes after I'm done visiting these families that don't have the gospel I realize more and more how blessed we really are! The gospel really is amazing! This week I did get to see Elder Ballard!!! Wohooo shook his hand and everything! And in the pic I was like 3 people away! I felt so famous but there was like 250 of us missionaries because all of our mission got to go. Anywho, We heard from Elder Mayne and Elder Resime too and wow were they amazing as well! It was such a motivation to get going and save our brothers and sisters souls! I loved every second and my testimony has grown tremendously from it!!! The gospel is so true! They talked about being personal with prayer and say names and things while praying and that this is a marvelous work we are in, and we are chosen to bring others to Christ! They also mentioned that we need to use the members because they are the ones that know the people and will help in hastening the work!
I was thinking about that and it's so true we go to strangers and tell them about this great message but it is not as powerful as one of their friends or family that have gotten to know them and love them share the message that we do have a loving Heavenly Father and he sent his son to die for us so that we are able to live with him someday! Like High School musical says we are "All in this together!" Disney knows what its talking about! So don't be shy to help hasten the work! Anyway, When they bore their testimonies it was so powerful I reallly can't deny that this gospel is true!!!!! It is I know it!!! Christ did not just leave us on this earth without a way of returning and we are so blessed to have apostles and prophets tell us what we need to do! And I also want to thank you for letting me rely on all of your testimonies for awhile because I don't know what I would have done without it!
I think wow all my life I have had this gospel and I really did take it for granted because I see people everyday that don't have it and you can just tell the difference. I really can't thank you enough! Thank you for your prayers!!!Also we are teaching this amazing 16 year old girl that is phenomenal! We committed her to being baptized November 23rd but she feels pressured a little so yesterday we fasted for her and stuff. And would really appreciate your prayers in her behalf!!! Her name's Lexi and we know everything will work out but would love the extra support!
We love Sister Toomer!!!You are all the best and I wish you the best! Love you more than a fat kid loves cake!!!!Love,Sister Toomer
Sister Toomer is doing AMAZING!! We all love her so much and are so proud of her. Here is some of the latest:
Have you written Tiffany a letter lately!??
Hey!We went to the temple today and man was that amazing! I love that the church and the gospel principles are the same everywhere you go!!!! So cool!!! This week was wonderful! We had Al Bennett's baptism- he is that 73 year old that I told you about and wow was it so amazing! The spirit was so strong and I got to bear my testimony and say the opening prayer so ya I'm on cloud 9! And more good news: We are teaching this 16 year old girl that pretty much came up to us to learn more about the church and she has been committed to being baptized on the 23rd of November!! She is pretty much golden because when we teach her she is like a sponge and absorbs everything right up!!! I love teaching her! Her dad is less-active and her mom is a non-member but her grandparents are members and she said she loved the feeling she had when she went to church with her grandparents. So that was how it all began:)
I meet some pretty amazing people and I know that there are plenty more to come so ya I can't wait!!! Oh and excitting news I get to see an apostle of the Lord on saturday!!!!! Elder Ballard is coming to our mission and we all get to hear him speak and shake his hand! How awesome is that!! If you couldn't tell I'm just loving life right now! It is kinda tough at times but the good moments totally outweigh the bad :)
I love to hear that you all are trying to do missionary work as well!!! That's what the Lord is asking from all of us so I guess we better get going ;) Keep up the good work!!! I know you'll do awesome and I bet the missionaries over there will just love you cuz the members are so key to finding the elect. Even when they are less-active.
Also, there isn't any snow over here...the weather's wonderful and the trees are so pretty! I love the mission life and my comp is still amazing-I really did get blessed with her. And I love you all so very much and wish you all the best!!!Love,Sister Toomer

Monday is email day!! (And Sister T's P-day!) Here is the latest from our amazing girl!
We love you Sister Toomer! Keep up the great work!!
Hey Fam!So this week has been absolutely amazing! I can really feel your support and love from all your thoughts and prayers, so thank you so much for that!!! We have Al Bennett's baptism this Saturday- he is this sweet adorable 73 year old and loves the gospel! We also are teaching this Hispanic man that understands English but doesn't speak it very well, but at least he says he is understanding. Anyway we tracted into him and gave him a Book of Mormon and when we returned like a week later he had read 1Nephi! It was awesome, but wait it gets better we had this girl that went to mutual and really liked it and came to us wanting to know more and she was at church yesterday!!! Also our less actives are starting to come to church and wow it's awesome! I know it won't be like this forever on my mission but I'm loving it, and I really want to thank all of you for putting me in your prayers because I know the Lord is answering and wants the best for us! The gospel is so amazing and I did take it for granted, but I know that Christ understands and wants us to be happy :) Going on a mission was the best decision ever! Thank you for helping me make that possible! You all are wonderful examples and I hope all is going well with everything!!! Love you lots!Sister Toomer
We love you Sister Toomer! Keep up the great work!!

The latest...
Here is part of an email that Sister Toomer sent today!
She is doing so great!Thank you so much for sending your love and support my way, I can definitely feel your prayers and love! Keep up the missionary work over there because members really do make a HUGE difference!!!! I know you can do it because you can do hard things, and when you focus on charity it makes the work go by so much better! The work here is AWESOME, we visit a lot of less actives but also teach investigators the important parts of this wonderful gospel! There was this young girl that we were teaching and we showed her the Faith in Christ movie and she didn't even know who baby Jesus was...so sad-but I'm excited that we have the chance to tell her now! Also we have a baptism for this cute cute guy that is 73 next week--super stoked and can't wait for him because he is adorable and loves this gospel. Growing up I took the wonderful blessing of this gospel for granted, and now I see the importance! The members here are great and we are working hard to get them going with missionary work! So I know the missionaries there love any effort you guys put forth. I'm still keeping myself healthy and the members feed us like everyday. I'm so blessed, so blessed! Love you all so very much!!!!

Email from Sister Toomer
Here is a recent email and pictures from Sister Toomer! If it sounds a bit random it's because she is replying to an email I sent her and is answering a lot of my questions. She is amazing!
I'm finally here on my mission :) but I'm actually in Oregon! Pendleton to be exact--it is such a cute little town, I absolutely love love love it here! My comp is sooo amazing! I adore her, she has been here for about 14 months and has this whole mission thing down! Such a cool chick...she is actually from Orem, her name's Sister Clegg.
Anyway the food at the MTC was pretty good probably because we were at the west campus, but now that I am out in the field the members feed me like I'm royal or something...It's awesome! haha my comp and I just bought a workout video at walmart so we don't become too big;) Also my apartment at the MTC was like a regular apartment and there was 4 sisters there, but here in Pendleton my comp and I have an apartment to ourselves which is super cool cause it has a kitchen and 2 bedrooms. We have to sleep together so we have a spare bedroom.
I gotta say I just think mission life is grand! I'm trying to be my best here and so far its going great! My first night here I had a lesson with this 17 year old girl and the spirit was so strong. My comp encouraged me to ask her to be baptized so I did, and she actually said yes..this rookie missionary over here didn't know what to do because I thought she would say no-but good thing we work in twos because my comp backed me up and said she needed permission since she was underage. She said that might be a problem since her dad's a strong catholic, so we are praying for her dad to soften his heart.

Pendleton:)
Love you all!!
Sister Toomer
She's here!
Tiffany is out in her mission! We were so excited to get a wonderful letter from her mission president and his wife letting us know she has safely arrived and is doing great! Here is the letter:
Dear Missionary Family,We are delighted to inform you that your missionary has arrived safely to the Washington Kennewick Mission. We already love them and are excited to serve with them. We have enjoyed becoming acquainted with them and are confident that they will become an effective instrument in the hands of the Lord in sharing the gospel with the people of Washington and Oregon. We have assigned them a companion who is an experienced, devoted, and motivated missionary. All of our missionaries understand that one of the greatest privileges available in the mission is to train a new missionary. This first companion will be a special person in your missionary’s life and will help give them a great start here.We feel that our greatest responsibility is the care and welfare of your child. We want to assure you that we will be in close contact with them. We will be observant of their physical health, happiness and spiritual well being. We will work closely with them throughout the mission to help them succeed and fulfill their calling as a representative of the Church and as an ambassador of the Lord Jesus Christ. Please be assured that we will be in contact with you if we encounter any concerns that would call for your attention. We see you as a great asset to the success of your missionary while they are serving here and will work closely with you if the need arises. You would help us immensely by informing us of any changes to address, phone number or email for you, your bishop or your stake president. We want to keep our records current so that we can keep in touch whenever necessary.Attached are photographs of your missionary taken with us at the welcome dinner at the mission home, along with a map that identifies your missionary’s first area. Please feel free to contact us at the mission office with any questions that you may have.Thank you for the sacrifices you are making at home to have your missionary in the field. We have seen the Lord bless the families of missionaries who are serving in untold ways. We know that His blessings will be upon you as well. With love,
President Boyd S. Ware Sister Linda P. Ware
